SJV is thrilled to bring the Heart Gallery to our parish!
The Heart Gallery is a powerful, traveling photographic exhibit created to help find forever families for children in foster care. Nearly 1,000 children in Harris County wait for a family and a place to call home. Historically, these children only have a 1% chance of being adopted before aging out of the system. For those who do age out of the system, the statistics are astonishing and heartbreaking:
- 40% will become homeless within the first year
- 50% will struggle with substance abuse
- 60% will be in jail within the first year
- 70% will be pregnant or parenting by the age of 21
Through the Heart Gallery, the probability of these children being adopted changes from 1% to over 60%!
We invite you to support these children by attending the exhibit and praying for them, that they may find their forever home.
